Parking Almere Centrum is mostly about choosing between multi-storey garages (often the most straightforward option) and paid street parking in the surrounding zones. In practice, paid hours and the local zones matter more than “where in Almere” you park, so you can plan your stop and avoid wasting time circling.

Multi-storey garages in Almere Centrum (open all day, but paid during set hours)

In Almere Centrum, the main parking garages sit under and next to the city’s car-free shopping area and are generally open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Paid parking applies during the city’s standard hours (see the FAQ for the exact times). Many garages also include charging points for electric cars.

On busy days, some garages fill faster than others—people often first think of the Hospitaal and Krakeling garages. If you see them getting crowded, check other options in the centre such as Flevogarage, Schoutgarage, and Muntgarage (notably the upper decks).

Street parking & parking zones (tariffs are higher than garages)

Paid street parking in Almere Stad follows the same general paid hours as the garages. As a rule of thumb, street rates are higher than multi-storey garages.

If you park in the zones around the centre (Schilwijken), you may benefit from a free first half hour after you register in the parking app or on the machine. After that, rates apply as set by the zone.

Outdoor parking lots (good for longer stays than street parking)

When it’s busy (weekends, holidays, events): where to look first

On weekends, holidays, and event days, the centre can get crowded and certain garages fill up quickly. If you want to reduce the risk of arriving to a near-empty choice only when you’re already there, you can keep checking Mobypark for future availability—but for now, plan your route using the alternative garages/areas listed above so you still have a practical fallback.

Resident permits & blue zone rules (if you live nearby)

If you live in a paid parking zone, Almere allows you to apply for a resident permit or subscription for your car(s). For blue zones, there is an option to request an exemption. Visitor arrangements in these zones may require registering and paying a zone-based visitor rate via the correct method (so don’t assume street rules apply the same way everywhere).
